ロータリーの綱領

ロータリーの目的は、意義ある事業の基礎として奉仕の理念を奨励し、これを育むことにある。具体的には、次の各項を奨励することにある：
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

1. 知り合いを広めることによって奉仕の機会とすること；
   　1st: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
2. 職業上の高い倫理基準を保ち、役立つ仕事はすべて価値あるものと認識し、社会に奉仕する機会としてロータリアン各自の職業を高潔なものにすること；
   　2nd: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
3. ロータリアン一人一人が、個人として、また事業および社会生活において、日々、奉仕の理念を実践すること；
   　3rd: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
4. 奉仕の理念で結ばれた職業人が、世界的ネットワークを通じて、国際理解、親善、平和を推進すること。　
   　 4th: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
